He's discharged: Tuesday, September 10, 2002    Well, in a surprise move, Jason received his marching orders from the doctors. He was discharged from the hospital this afternoon! His blood count basically skyrocketed over the last 3 days and they said he no longer needed to be there. Besides being VERY excited (and shocked), I'm in a bit of a flurry getting him adjusted again to home. He has more blood work on Friday and Tuesday, but other that that - he's a free man. I'm sure we'll be discussing on Tuesday when he'll need to get scheduled for his follow-up chemotherapy. Keep your fingers crossed for his next bone marrow biopsy. That will be the tell-tale sign of whether or not the chemo worked. I'll be sure to email everyone again with more information ASAP. Gosh - you should have seen how long it took us to take all of the cards, balloons and gifts down from his room and packed away... All four walls were covered with something! Thanks so much for making his room that much more bearable! P.S. -- He is now able to eat whatever he's able to now, so fresh fruit, nuts, flowers, etc. are okay. You never saw anyone want for a salad so badly...
