Jason received Lex's T-cells this afternoon, after much ado over the last few days. We've also been packing like crazy and are all scheduled to be in Pgh. by late tomorrow night. From what we know, he'll hopefully start getting a reaction within 2 or 3 weeks and this will also be a reaction against the leukemia. If there's no GVLD reaction in this timeframe, they can give him another - more potent - boost. The reactions can range from mild (rash) to severe (liver failure.) Beyond that - we still don't know.
Jason is just so happy to be getting home. Its a wonder what the knowledge that you'll be sleeping in your own bed - after 7 months - can do for the psyche. Another big thank you to everyone who has selflessly helped us while in Houston, and who are helping us return to Pittsburgh. We will never be able to show you our full appreciation. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as it seems we need them now more than ever. -Mel
