Hi Jason and Mel,
After spending a week in Canada with a cousin's family, I'm back in the office and glad to be back in air-conditioning. I lived last week in a very rustic cabin overlooking Lake Rideau in Westport. Lovely place and great time, but I'm glad to be home; so I can just imagine how you all feel!
One year--what an anniversary--hope you had a great dinner! It's hard for me to believe that Jen and Doug have been married for a year--somehow the memories of your wedding and Jen's are bittersweet.
One light anniversary tip--it really is okay to send the top layer of the wedding cake 1,000 miles overnight to the "newlyweds" a year later. Don't know how it tasted, but I hear I managed to pack it well!
Haven't talked to your folks--I'm assuming they got to Pittsburgh--looking forward to seeing them, and you soon! Hang in there in the heat--it's not too great up here either. . .
